This event, organised by ILHIA, Women@WorkplacePride and EL*C, on October 5, presented the latest research into the past international lesbian* organizing in Europe and beyond.
During the panel discussion activists from across generations will reflect on the way we have built our movements. How can we learn from the past? What do we need for the future? Belinda Dear and Evien Tjabbes will speak about events, festivals and conferences of lesbian women in 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and new EL*C initiatives.
After the plenary discussion there was a performance followed by informal networking and drinks.
Booklet
Through the research at IHLIA, Belinda Dear discovered that ILIS organised no less than 11 European lesbian conferences, as well as supporting three Asian lesbian conferences and three Latin American lesbian conferences. Her research was compiled into a booklet, which serves as a small overview of the history of ILIS. Click here for the booklet
