Reflection on Western society and its relationship to other cultures is incomplete without reflection on the changing balance of power between the sexes and the accompanying cultural expressions. For example, current intercultural and interreligious frictions increasingly seize on the interpretation of gender as a marker of one’s own political, cultural or religious identity.
The university is looking for a new colleague who will strengthen our teaching and research with expertise in the field of gender theory. In addition to the general points of view, you are able to place gender in a philosophical and religious-scientific perspective, also in relation to current cultural issues. Specifically, you will teach courses on subjects such as Feminist Classics and Gender, Multiculturalism and Religion. You will also participate in the interdisciplinary Gender and Diversity Studies teaching and research programme.
The intention is that, in two to four years’ time, this position will develop into an Assistant Professorship that is clearly recognisable in Radboud’s profiles and will form the basis for further development. Our staff policy provides room for ambition and also takes personal circumstances into account.
