This is an exciting opportunity to join ILGA World, the global LGBTI membership-based organisation with more than 1,600 member organisations in over 160 countries.
Anyone with dedication to – and experience in regard to – human rights of and social justice for persons of diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions and sex characteristics who meets the requirements set out below is welcome to apply.
The internship is a great opportunity for somebody who has an interest in human rights and LGBTI issues and wants to gain experience in working for an international human rights organisation that represents LGBTI organisations, communities and movements on a global stage. It is aimed at LGBTI human rights activists who are at an early stage of their career.
The internship is six months long (with possible extension until the end of the 2022 ILGA World Conference) and will start in May 2021. The internship is virtual, and the intern can be based anywhere with good internet connection. This specific internship requires the intern to travel and work in Los Angeles at the 2022 ILGA World Conference for a week (all costs related to the travel and stay in Los Angeles will be covered by ILGA World).
The exact working hours and dates can be flexible, but a candidate should be available to work full-time (37.5 hours/week). The intern receives a financial compensation of CHF 750 per month.
The intern will provide assistance to ILGA World’s staff and will mainly work with and report to Paula Klik, Membership and Events Officer.
