LGBTQIA+ Research Day on 9 December 2022

The Flemish-Dutch LGBTI Research Network, VU Pride, UvA Pride, and the Centre of Expertise of LGBTQIA+ Issues at the University of Groningen are hosting an LGBTQIA+ Research Day on 9 December 2022 from 11am until 6pm at the University of Amsterdam.

Signing up

It is not possible send in abstracts any more, but you are welcome to attend the Research Day. In order to do so, please sign up here. You can sign up until 2 December. Attendance is free of charge.

Location

The Research Day will take place at the University of Amsterdam, location: Oudemanhuispoort. The address is: Oudemanhuispoort 4, Amsterdam. Once you enter the location, there will be signs to guide to the sessions.

Theme
The theme of the day is Invisibilities. Here, invisibilities can refer to those who are (rendered) invisible in society, research, policy, and other interventions.  


Keynote speaker 

The keynote speaker is Dr Margriet van Heesch of the University of Amsterdam. Dr van Heesch is a sociologist and expert in gender and queer studies, whose current research focusses on the intersex movement and the sociology of romantic love in pop culture.
